FAQs
How do I pay for therapy? Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?
1
Most clients pay their co-payment at each session, with insurance covering the rest. A sliding-scale fee is available for those who need it, and some clients choose the private-pay rate. At this time I don't accept Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare, but I do accept All Kids of Alabama.
Is therapy available online or in person?
2
Both. I offer in-person sessions at my office in Pelham, and telehealth for clients across Alabama and Florida. Telehealth takes place through the client portal or a secure Google Meet link I'll provide.
How can therapy help me, and what should I expect?
3
You don't need to be in crisis to benefit — everyone faces grief, frustration, loss, and uncertainty, and sometimes we simply need comfort, clarity, or a nudge forward. What you gain reflects what you put into the process, and the partnership you build with your therapist, called the therapeutic alliance, means you don't have to face life's challenges alone.
Your first session is an intake (with paperwork completed beforehand), where we'll go over confidentiality, talk about what brought you in, and map out your goals. From there we use evidence-based approaches to get to the heart of your pain. There's no set number of sessions, but many people notice meaningful change between the fourth and eighth. Most clients begin with two sessions a month, and along the way you can expect books, occasional homework, growing trust, and guaranteed laughter.
What is the cancellation policy?
4
Your session time is set aside just for you, and that time matters to your progress. Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a fee. The first late cancellation or no-show is $50, and $100 for each one after that — illness and emergencies are always understood as exceptions. Repeated no-shows may result in services being discontinued. To cancel or reschedule, just text or email me.
